pre-purchase check-up on used

I need ideas on pre-purchase checkup list for used 4x4 trucks.

Trans sealed, so can't for burnt oil. Check motor oil for same.

Underneath, check for excessive clearances, torn cv boots, leaks of any kind, tires -excessive, uneven wear, interior- stains, aftermarket wiring etc, Any others?

Check A/C operation, and likely the blower motor will tick or squeal on at least one speed - use this to your benifit when haggling.

Check for clutch release bearing noise if it's a manual trans - which I'm thinking not as you were talking auto trans fluid.

Check the condition of the brakes - visual and road test.

Check for any unusual noises, vibrations when on test drive, and wandering / pulling. And check for uneven tire wear as you mentioned, and tire condition.

Check for any "ticking" noise on heavy accelleration that could indicate an exhaust manifold leak.

If you have a code reader, check for any stored codes and make sure all system tests completed.

And on it goes...

Purchased truck, super clean, seldom used, well groomed courteous seller ( upfront truthful, not shady deceitful) He didn't know how lien searches work, but got that cleared up. Drove truck home from Edmonton to BC. Truck performed flawlessly . Purchaser Happy, Seller Happy : ITS ALL GOOD! Looking forward to many years of carefree enjoyable motoring.
