Noticed that I have a good old fixed antenna planted on the passenger side fender. I kinda want it out. What would be a sound alternative??

I wanted to do that too. Hopefully it would reduce wind noise too. Anyone?

Maybe someone on here is knowledgible enough to put up a tutorial for rewiring the mast antenna to a "shark fin" type or mounted-on-glass type??

^ then you'd have to deal with the hole on your fender. :/ this was actually the one thing that almost prevented me from purchasing the SE. i hate fender antennas. lol. i bought a 6" stubbie antenna from amazon and now i like it a lot! looks great and and goes with the "sporty" look of the vehicle. i'll post a pic later when i take one during lunch.

ACS Rob
this is a good solution.

ACS Rob, can you provide the deets on this antenna? Brand, part number, etc? Also, any noticeable difference in reception? I think I will go with your solution if reception isnt badly compromised.

I actually went with ACS Rob's advise. I got a 4" stubby as suppose to 6". Will post pic

So, the stock antenna just unscrews and you screw in the Stubby 4' or 6' aftermarket? Reception same or better on both?
Reply 11 : SE Antenna Question
yeah, just unscrew the old, pick the correct adapter (screw, 3 types included), and screw in the new. reception is a tad weaker but nothing noticable. really depends on the signal strengh of the station you are listening to.

Sounds good. Gotta ditch that mast! Amazon link is broken. What's the Stubbie model you have?
Reply 13 : SE Antenna Question

item is called "All Sales 6206K Stubbie Black Powder Coated 6" Antenna". just search for it on the site.
Reply 14 : SE Antenna Question
