Canadian model US extended warranty

I have 2010 Toyota Tundra. I love the truck by the way. I was looking to buy an extended warranty in Canada but the prices are doubled as compared to the American extended warranty. I know there is a post here that directs you to a dealer in the US that will take care of it all. I called Toyota Canada today and they said that I can't do that. I'm just wondering if anyone has purchased a US extended warranty for a Canadian Model and if you have have you had any issues with a Canadian dealer servicing the vehicle with the US extended warranty.
